Three recently highlighted nutrition studies have reported measurable associations between eating behaviour, food processing and health outcomes. A study published 12 September 2024 in Nutrition & Diabetes found 8-hour time-restricted eating windows produced greater weight loss than 12-hour windows or no time restriction.[1] Healthline Media reports Dalia Perelman, MS, RDN, CDCES, research dietitian at Stanford Medicine, stated that people who shortened their eating window more relative to their usual pattern tended to lose more weight.[2] Researchers at Virginia Tech's Fralin Biomedical Research Institute published a study in Nature Metabolism finding nutritionally matched meals produce different metabolic and brain responses based on processing level.[3] IslanderNews.com reports lead researcher Alexandra DiFeliceantonio stated high ultra-processed food consumption is associated with obesity, cardiac events, Type 2 diabetes, and some mental health metrics.[4] 2021 research in Food Science and Nutrition reported reduced airway inflammation in rodents given BerriQi concentrate.[5]
