Seven new clinical nutrition and public health studies were published across peer reviewed journals on 20 October 2026. Tufts University researchers published analysis of US adult coffee consumption trends spanning 2003 to 2018 in the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.[1] A systematic review appearing in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition pooled 15 randomized clinical trials including 1952 women aged 40 to 65, examining diet and menopause symptoms.[2] Researchers published a randomized controlled trial comparing metabolic response to meals with identical nutritional content but different levels of processing.[3] An analysis in PLoS Medicine used data from 461,682 adults in the NIH-AARP Diet and Health Study to evaluate links between ultra-processed food intake and colorectal cancer incidence.[4] Work from the UCLA Health Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center, published in JCO Oncology Advances, found a nutritional supplement containing oxaloacetate may improve cognitive function and reduce fatigue in breast cancer survivors.[5] A study in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute reported 60% of highly frail older long term breast cancer survivors did not receive Medicare home health care in any given year.[6] Two additional studies were filed 19 and 20 October from Chinese research groups. One examined a fermented ginseng and soybean product, the other identified liver protective compounds in vinegar.[7][8]
